Great post! I do have a question though, on the "I Get Sign Ups With a Little Help From My Friends" section.

If people do take the time to text IAMS and redeem their coupon, where is it indicated that they are also signing up for any kind of distribution list?

What I mean is, on the the sign that says “for $5 off Iams dog food, text “Iamsdog” to 23907. For $5 off Iams cat food, text “Iamscat” to 23907.” Is it also indicated that by texting, that your phone number has been captured and you will be contacted with future messages? If not, I'd be furious if I ever received messages from IAMS.

I make this comment because this post is about the future of email marketing. Not sure how that IAMS scenario applies.

Thanks,
Kyle
