Influencers are the best way to amplify content in a hyper-competitive marketing environment.
Everywhere you turn there’s more and more talk about influencer marketing. (We even started a new podcast about it, called Influence Pros.)
And it’s no wonder. With more and more companies creating more and more content, the differentiator is no longer about who has the best content, but rather who is best at getting that content discovered.
We can help get your content discovered. Based on our work with companies like yours and our own day-to-day experiences running one of the world’s most respected online media companies, we have created, executed, supervised and measured a LOT of influencer marketing programs.
We want to make sure your content is a hit and we want to help you find and activate influencers to do so.
We’re not an agency. We’re a strategy and operations consultancy. If you’re good, we can help you get great. If you’re just starting a new initiative, we will show you the way. If you’re wrestling with internal debates about resources, oversight and governance, we will provide the clarity you seek.
Our clients include The United Nations, Cabela’s, Oracle, Cisco, Adidas, The Motley Fool, Allstate, Pella Windows and Doors, and more.
Our President, Jay Baer, is the most retweeted person in the world among digital marketers and the second most retweeted person in the world among CMOs.
The Five Ways We Can Help You
We deliver services in five ways. Clients of Convince & Convert work with us in one or more of these capacities:
We have smart, timely and topical influencer marketing keynote and breakout programs ready for you.
Our three most popular programs in this area are:
“The Crucial Differences Between Influencers and Advocates”
“Employees as Advocates: How to Activate Internal Advocacy”
“How to Turn Customers Into a Volunteer Marketing Army”
We’d love to work with you to create a custom influencer or advocate marketing presentation for your company or group as well.
Combining insights from our own work, and our counsel to many global brands, we will work with you to deliver a half or full-day workshop on influencer and advocate marketing trends and best practices. We’d love to include examples from your company and industry in the workshop.
These workshops are best when attended by 60 persons or fewer. Most of these sessions are conducted in-person, but virtual sessions are available, and we can even break the learning into multiple modules (delivered via Webinar) if it’s more convenient for your team to do so.
Our influencer marketing assessment will help you identify potential message amplifiers in three categories:
- Customer advocates
- Employee advocates
- Industry influencers
Our assessment starts will a full examination of your current internal and external advocacy and influencer reality. Who is talking about you? Where? Why? In what context? We also evaluate the current intersections where you could potentially ask for and trigger advocacy – especially among customers.
We then employ advanced software that uses network analysis to locate your best potential advocates from among your social media-active employees, and the best influencers for you to consider approaching for content or promotional partnerships.
We also look at your core competitors’ use of advocates and influencers and measure the current efficacy of their programs, comparing them to your own.
Our final deliverable is a detailed assessment and SWOT analysis of your advocate and influencer marketing, mapped against competitors, including recommendations for immediate action steps to tackle over the following 60 days.
Our influencer marketing strategic roadmap give you a full, detailed plan for how to steadily improve your influencer and advocate marketing and related word of mouth initiatives, in a logical, achievable, multi-stage process.
We conduct much of the same analysis as performed for the Influencer Marketing Assessment (including software-assisted influencer and advocate location and analysis), but we add comprehensive, step-by-step process maps for how you can activate and measure advocates and influencers for specific campaigns and objectives over time.
Our final deliverable is a detailed strategic plan for how to improve advocate and influencer marketing over a 12-month period (versus the assessment, which provide 60-day recommendations). The Influencer Marketing Roadmap also includes recommendations for technology, personnel, budget, metrics and all other components necessary to tackle a robust improvement effort.
This is the program that has the most impact for our corporate clients.
We deliver the Influencer Marketing Roadmap in two ways:
Influencer Marketing Roadmap Classic
We begin with a comprehensive brand anthropology session where we work with you via phone and virtual meeting to learn about your organization, your customers, and your existing influencer efforts (if any). You also supply us with critical data we need to create the roadmap.
Interviews, progress check-ins, etc. are all conducted virtually, and the final roadmap is presented on site at your location (you also receive all project materials and finding electronically).
Timeline for influencer roadmap is typically 45 days.
Influencer Marketing Roadmap On the Fly
Our team spends approximately three days with you on site and we build the roadmap together via an intensive methodology.
Mornings are spent fact-finding and discussing progress. Afternoons we conduct research and write the roadmap.
At the conclusion of the session, we deliver the finished roadmap to your team live at your location.
Influencer marketing roadmap on the fly typically requires two weeks of prep work, and approximately three days on site. We will need the time of you/your team during the morning of day one and day two, and afternoon of day three (for the final presentation).
In addition to our core programs, we often work with companies on a series of Step Up Projects, where our team takes on the important tasks that you know you should probably tackle, but just can’t find the time or resources to do so.
These Step Up Projects are short duration (30-45 days or less), self-contained assignments that provide huge operational value to you. There are more than 30 Step Up Projects we can handle for you, and we’re delighted to look at custom assignments too.
Step Up Projects usually cross over topics, so your package of 5, 10, or 15 projects may include a few from customer experience, a few from content marketing, a few from influencer marketing, and a few from social media.
We’re adding new Step Up Projects all the time and we’d love to talk about a custom project with you.
Here are some of the Step Up Projects we often handle in the area of influencer marketing:
- Influencer research and profiling (10 influencers, included in Roadmap)
- ID blogs and podcasts for guest contributions (10 venues)
- Influencer marketing metrics ID and scorecard creation (included in Roadmap)
- Influencer marketing campaign strategy and ideas (four concepts, included in Roadmap)
- Assess and recommend influencer marketing tools (included in Roadmap)
