Hi Mr. Fish.

Thanks for stopping in. No harm or offense intended. IP address shows right on the comment when it gets sent to me by Wordpress, so it's not like I did any NSA-level snooping.

And I don't think I was interpreting Joe's comment, just clarifying that his comment was his personally, and not official Publicis commentary. I wanted to make that clear, because I had some officlal commentary from BusinessWire and PRWeb the other day when I posted about the SEC's decision about blogs counting as fair notice for financial information. In that case, officials from those companies commented using their company email address, which is different from how Joe posted.

Either way, sincere apologies if I've offended you, Joe or any other Convince & Convert readers. And as I've stated above, I believe it's a great acquisition for Publicis, and I thank you for participating in the dialog about it.

Sniffing a commenter's IP address and then using it to interpret their commentary is a little... i dunno... intrusive.

So I guess that's all I'll say here (and yes, I do work for Publicis, and quite close to all this.)

Hi Joe. Thanks much for the comment. Since your IP address is from Publicis, but you posted from a personal email, I presume that's a personal take, not an official Publicis statement?

Just to be clear, I don't think you/they are just making a splash, I was just throwing it out there. I actually think it's a terrific move for the three reasons I articulated, and I suspect there will be a run on other search firms by ad conglomerates that will now need to catch up in a hurry.

Sincere thanks for the comment. Tell your friends about the C&C blog.

Cheers,
jason

The Nerve Center will create technology to help client growth, expand Publicis capabilities and relations with both platforms and social networks.
Publicis Groupe already has a company with search capability, this is just a move to prove their initiative of 25% revenue from digital which you stated.
I can also see why you think they are just trying to make a splash, but making a splash in such an expensive way will also further their clout and also show they have firepower to back it up.
