		<description>If texting is going the way of pagers, someone please tell my kids that. On the contrary, they carriers have jacked up the SMS text message costs (it&#039;s $0.20 on Verizon without a texting plan!) and yet, it&#039;s growth can&#039;t be stopped. Hopefully mobile data replaces it, but it&#039;s not likely.

		<description>Great post for breaking down the to-do list... I agree that most of the effort has to be concentrated months before the event to build buzz and create the social interaction to increase attendance and engage potential attendees, but there is a lot that can be done during and after events end. QR code is an excellent example of an easy and low cost way of connecting participants on location to relevant digital information. it is being used by about 10% of audience on average but it is bound to increase over the next 2-3 years as smartphone adoption continues upward.

Mobile voting is an amazing tool that is so easy to setup and very effective to increase engagement. We used polleverywhere.com for a few clients before, but to be honest I think TXT Messaging is dying the same way that pagers died! We now integrate mobile polls that work beautifully on almost all smartphones into into EventMobi (mobile event guide) that are practically free to organizers and free to use by attendees since there is no SMS fees! All you need to tell your attendees is visiting a URL on their phone browsers much simpler than SMS instruction!
