Youtility is marketing so useful, people would pay for it (tweet this) It’s a necessity for all businesses now, forced to compete for attention not just against other companies selling the same stuff, but against everyone and everything.
In this hyper-competitive era, you don’t break through the clutter by shouting the loudest, you get noticed by being truly and inherently useful. Like this guy, whose massively useful video on shucking corn has generated 7.5 million YouTube views in 18 months.
I’ll be talking about Youtility, and why smart marketing is about Help not Hype in my Super Session on Monday at Social Media Marketing World in San Diego. It’s just the first year of this new conference from Mike Stelzner and the gang at Social Media Examiner, and it’s a whiz bang lineup. Tons of interesting speakers and attendees.
I want to know what you think about useful content and Youtility.
What company provides the content that’s most useful for you?
Ordinarily, we could hash it out in the comments, but I’m going to use my nifty new Nestivity Twitter community to discuss #Youtility and usefulness LIVE during my session, and would love for you to participate there, too.
Just go to http://jaybaer.nestivity.com and join the community with one click. Then, weigh in on my thoughts and add your own. It’ll be fun! And thanks to Nestivity for creating an amazing tool that’s going to revolutionize Twitter community and conversation. (It’s publicly available now, so you can get your own Nest). For more on Nestivity, check out this excellent summary blog post from Kristi Hines.
More from Social Media Marketing World…and beyond
I’m also moderating a keynote panel Tuesday morning titled “Are We Getting Better, or Just Getting Busier” about the impact of social media usage on our lives. Joining me are Chris Brogan, Mark Schaefer and Mario Sundar. Should be an interesting discussion. Right after that session, I’m off to San Francisco to talk Youtility at the Marketo User Summit, then a red eye home. A big day!
Thanks as always for your support. Lots more coming on the Youtility book soon (you have another week or so to get on the super secret fan club list). Looking forward to interacting with you on my Nest!Related
