Let’s Mix It Up in Chicago

If you’re looking for perhaps the most useful online marketing conference of the year, read on.

The Mixer is truly one of the highlights of the annual conference schedule because it really is a “mixer.” Not a summit. Not a forum. Not an institute. Not a CSI crime lab.

It’s a mixer

The conference combines incredibly good content on the three most critical aspects of today’s digital marketing ecosystem: search marketing, email marketing, social media.

The conference is an approachable, intimate size so attendees can mix with speakers and one another.

And because it’s MarketingProfs, they’re always looking out for the marketing big picture, so there’s plenty of insights into how all of this digital stuff integrates into the overall communications game plan.

It was the best conference I attended last year, and I’m expecting more of the same in 2009. Plus, this time I’m consulting on some of the social media elements of the event, and I’m one of three “mixologists” that will present (on the fly) the “30 things you can take home and implement immediately” session at the end of the event.

Speakers include the super-smart BJ Fogg from Stanford, talking about the psychology of Facebook and Twitter; Michael Brito, social media strategist from some company called Intel; Mike Volpe from inbound marketing powerhouse Hubspot; social media thinkers Mack Collier and Becky Carroll – both good, good people; and of course Ann Handley, Beth Harte, and Roy Young from MarketingProfs.
